Joe Hoole

Hi, I’m Joe! I’m an Interaction Designer with half a decade of experience in industry, with skills honed in Visual Effects, Games Design, programming, robotics and Graphic Design.

I’m also a massive geek; I love 3D printing, laser cutting and anything that keeps me at the cutting edge of design and technology.

I’ve gained experience delivering classes in the London Design Museum, as a presenter for their Digital Design department, and in start-ups like MakerClub (where Heman and I met) and the Institute of Imagination.

Hemanshu Amin

Hello! I’m a recently qualified teacher and I’ve been working at London Design & Engineering UTC for over 3 years, teaching Engineering and Product Design to 14 – 19 year olds. This includes CAD, CAM, metalworking and manufacturing skills such as 3D printing and laser-cutting.

Prior to this, I spent a year and half in industry working as a Product Designer for FabLab London and PrintME 3D.

I also designed a family-oriented boardgame in 2016 which I launched on crowd-funding platform Kickstarter and sold across Europe and North America.

All our instructors are DBS-checked, have a fire marshal certification, first-aid training and are trained on workshop Health & Safety.

 What we stand for

At Tinker Studios we believe in many things that we think are essential for children’s healthy development. Some of them are:

tick.png

Tinkering, experimenting, exploring, making mistakes and being curious

because he who never made a mistake never tried anything new.

tick.png

Developing self-confidence, autonomy, problem-solving skills and resourcefulness

because there is power in knowing you can do things by yourself.

tick.png

Creativity, ideation, interdisciplinary thinking and design thinking

because great ideas come from unusual places.

tick.png

Developing focus, perseverance, resilience and commitment

because nothing worth having comes without effort.

tick.png

Learning to showcase one's work and improving one’s communication skills

because learning to speak is learning to think.

Learning to collaborate with others and respecting different positions

because more ideas are better than fewer.

Tinker Studios is a safe and inclusive community for everybody.

Our clubs run within an atmosphere of trust and support, where challenge is adapted to individual needs and a friendly face is always ready to lend a hand.
